When is the best time to take breakfast, lunch, and dinner when dieting?

As we worry about what we eat, carefully watch calories, take more of protein, vegetable, and fruits, it is important to note the time when we should eat and when not to. They contribute greatly to our weight loss.

Researchers have managed to help us determine the appropriate times to take our meals while dieting. The best time to take breakfast is between 7am and 7.15am. For lunch, it should be between 12.30pm and 1pm. It is also ideal to take our dinner early enough. The later you take your dinner, the worse it can be for your body. The ideal time for dinner is between 6pm and 6.30pm.

What are the effects of not taking my meals at these specified times?

If the time we eat is not properly monitored, it affects the rate at which the food is processed in our body, especially at night. Our food digestion mechanisms slow down by the time we’re ready for bed, reducing the rate of processing food.

What should I eat or avoid while dieting?

Avoid any snack that only contains high carbs. Snacks that contain a combination of low carbs, healthy fats and protein will be much better.Avoid high-fiber snack bars. Go for foods rich in fiber. Any fruit or veggie will do.Desist from taking low-fat foods. Instead, eat healthy fats in moderation.

Other varieties you may go for include whole eggs, leafy greens, salmon, lean beef and chicken breast, boiled potatoes, beans and legumes, avocados , nuts just to mention a few.

What is the best thing to take before exercising for endurance and energy?

You may need quality carbs, heart-healthy fats, lean protein, and fluids. The body muscles count on carb foods like cereals, bread, vegetables, and fruits, for quick energy.

Protein is also required by the muscles and blood cells. It brings oxygen and nutrients to the muscles.Fluids and water are also needed for the body to replenish the ones lost to sweating during exercise.

Is it better to stay hydrated with sports drinks or plain water?

Water is often enough. Sports drinks can be a good choice especially when the humidity and temperature are high. They give the body carbs and sodium. If you usually sweat a lot, it is preferable you take sports drink to water.
